Hello friends. Sorry things around here have been so quiet this week. I had some updates for you, but the end of the week turned quite dark and dreary and it was hard to get good pictures (more to come in the next few days). Lucky for us, yesterday was beautiful -- unusually cool and sunny -- the perfect day for a Shrimp Boil, which is exactly what we had.
We hosted the party with our friends Lisa Marie and James. As we learned from James (the brains behind the operation) the key to a shrimp boil is keeping it simple. You pour the boil (shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes cooked in a spicy broth) out onto newspaper-covered tables, then roll up the remnants and spread newspaper to move on to a new batch. Along with the boil, we had a pretty great set of sides: fried pickles, sausage balls, mac and cheese, and watermelon. It was so much fun!
What a day! Hope you had a great weekend, too.
